Juarez Mission Annual Food & Fund Drive

Trinity

Covid-19 has changed many things here in Colorado and also at the Mission in Juarez. Because of the virus, the Mexican government has temporarily closed the mission for classes, daycare and feeding the children. The Mission has pivoted their work and has now become the food life support for the community. Pilar is handing out weekly food boxes to help those who are ill as well as those whose livelihoods have been affected by job layoffs and the severely restricted border closing.

Although the annual Northern Colorado food and fund drive will look a little different this year, we are blessed to be able to help our brothers and sisters in Juarez. The food and fund drive will begin November 1st and run through November 25th. While the food we gather is very important the funds are equally so, as some food must be purchased locally. Food may be dropped off at Steve Teksten’s home at 1603 37th Ave. or call him, and he will pick it up at your convenience. Checks will not be run through Trinity’s account as in past years, so they should be made out to Hands for Christ and sent to the church or directly to Steve. All money collected will be delivered with the food. Hands for Christ is a 501(C)(3, and you will receive a receipt for your taxes. We will be taking the supplies to El Paso on the weekend of December 5th. Trinity has been a wonderful friend of the Mission for many years, and we hope you will hear God’s call to help your less fortunate brothers and sisters in Juarez again this year.
